Southwest Behavioral Health Services (SBH) is a leading 501(c)3 behavioral health agency in Arizona. SBH has assumed a leadership role in development and delivery of services in the areas of housing, residential care, prevention services, outpatient services to children, incarcerated persons and dually diagnosed adults (SMI/SA). St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, the world’s first food bank, is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry. Serving two-thirds of Arizona’s 15 counties, the organization is committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.
Provides a number of greatly needed services to needy families and individuals in our community, including the very basics for human dignity such as food, shelter, and clothing. Additional help with utility bills, rent, transportation, medical expenses, and even emotional and spiritual support transforms the lives of many.
The STAR School is a charter elementary school located 30 miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona. The school serves students in pre-school through grade 8 who live in the southwest corner of the Navajo Nation and the surrounding rural area. The STAR School is the country’s first off grid, solar/wind powered charter school in the country and proud to be one of two Arizona schools to receive the prestigious 2012 US Dept. of Education Green Ribbon School award.
We strive to be a model for social change with the power to transform attitudes and services. Our goal is to improve the health and well being of individual people throughout Flagstaff, Coconino County and surrounding reservations, through the prevention of suicide in a culturally based manner.
Head Start and Early Head Start programs offer exciting learning opportunities for expecting parents, and children ages Birth – 5 years of age. We work with families to ensure that every child has the skills & knowledge needed for success in school. We work with the whole family to provide medical, dental, nutritional & mental health support. We partner with parents to support their learning interests and goals for the future while working with community partners and services to enhance and support those goals. We are NAEYC Accredited and provide all of these services at no cost to the families if families qualify. Full Day & half-Day Classrooms & Home Base services are available to meet families in the way that best fits their needs, and children with special needs are welcome.
