COCONINO COUNTY — The entrance lobby of Killip Elementary School was buzzing with the sound of excited children heading off to meet their teachers and pick up school supplies at the schools’ “Come Meet Your Teacher” event on Aug. 1 in Flagstaff. The scene was repeated recently at schools throughout Northern Arizona.
Those community organizations attending the Killip event included Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff, Chicano Por La Causa, Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, Family and Community Teaming for Students (FACTS) Killip, The Literacy Center, North County Healthcare and Redemption Counseling Center.
More back-to-school events are planned for Northern Arizona. Please see our listing below for upcoming events.
