Let’s unite to take care of our own! Kinsey Elementary’s after-school program has lost funding, leaving 130+ youth without a safe space. We, the Boys and Girls Club, can step in with your support. I am seeking funding for the Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff in partnership with the Lura Kinsey Elementary School’s after-school programming for the current school year. Lura Kinsey Elementary is a public magnet school located in Flagstaff, AZ. It serves a diverse student body of 362 students from Pre-K to 5th grade, with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1.
As a Title I school, Lura Kinsey Elementary provides essential after-school programming for underserved and underrepresented students. These programs have a significant impact, serving over 130+ students and offering them a safe and supportive environment for learning and growth beyond regular school hours.
Unfortunately, this fiscal year, they did not receive the anticipated $120,000 in federal funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, which has historically supported their after-school initiatives. This shortfall puts these valuable programs at risk, potentially leaving many students without the critical resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
To address this urgent need, the Boys and Girls Club of Flagstaff is stepping up and are prepared to host the after-school program. However, we require financial support to make this possible. We are seeking funding, pledges and commitments from amazing folks like yourself before Labor Day as the semester starts next week. Your assistance in providing funding through these channels would ensure the continuation of these vital programs and directly contribute to the well-being and educational development of our students.
The Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff can run a similar program starting at $80,000 in our current site of Cogdill Center to help address the need.
Help Us, Help Others. Let’s Unite.
