Projects

We’re Working for You

The Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth is focused on root causes and systemic solutions, proactively and boldly taking on challenges with an innovative and inclusive mindset.

Below you will find a sampling of the projects and events that CCC&Y is involved with.

Billy Mills

Coconino Prevention Council

Conferences

Our annual conferences are a time for the community to be together, learn, grow and raise hope. Each year our theme, keynote speakers and presenters are all carefully selected to meet the needs of the community and encourage wide attendance.

PAWS – Promoting Assets With Sculpture Project

CCC&Y initiated the PAWS community arts and education project to spread awareness about the 40 Developmental Assets and the importance of positive prevention in the lives of young people.

Seventeen mountain lion sculptures, each representing one of the 40 Developmental Assets, are now installed in various locations throughout Flagstaff. CCC&Y is furthering this project by encouraging educational discussions and dialogue at each of the sculpture sites.

Additionally, we hold annual early childhood STEAM fairs, professional development opportunities, mindfulness practices and a range of outreach work across the county.

Further, we have engaged in multiple projects with International Child Welfare expert, Kevin Campbell (hyperlink to the self-healing communities page under prevention frameworks) and developed a library of recorded webinars (hyperlink to the recorded webinars page) with several guest speakers.

Action and Outreach

Candidate Questionnaires

Each election we ask the candidates who impact Coconino County to participate in our questions. Our goal is to raise voter awareness while providing voter education about where candidates stand. Our non-partisan process supports an educated and active voter population.

Annual Legislative Priorities

Each year our action and outreach committee identifies a selection of bills that will impact the children and families of our communities.

See below for previous examples.

Annual Caring for Children Awards

Each year we recognize outstanding individuals throughout Coconino County who work to make this a better place for our youngest community members.

Visit our caring for children award page to see our previous awardees.

Community Events

We host and participate in a wide array of community events throughout the years.
