Community celebrates return of Flagstaff Early Childhood Fair on April 5

FLAGSTAFF — Dozens of families celebrated the return of the Flagstaff Early Childhood Fair on Saturday, April 5 at Killip Elementary School in Flagstaff.

The 10th annual version featured children’s activities, resources for parents and providers, a teacher supply swap, dental screenings and other information. Previous early childhood fairs were held at Flagstaff High School.

Presented by Coconino County Health and Human Services’ AZ Health Zone, the event was sponsored by the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD), Killip Elementary School and Mountain Line.

Organizations staffing the event included the Arizona Dept. of Economic Security, Arizona PBS — Arizona State University, Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff, Cactus Pines Girls Scouts, Chicano Por La CAUSA (CPLC), Coconino County — Women, Infants and Children (WIC), the Guidance Center, Kaibab Behavioral Services, North County HealthCare, NACOG Head Start, Northland-Rural Therapy Associates —  Az Early Intervention Program Provider, Raising Special Kids, Red Rock State Park Junior Ranger, Tynkertopia,

CCC&Y takes part in Grand Canyon School Whole Health Family Night on Feb. 18

From games for children to healthy foods for the entire family, students and their parents enjoyed an energetic and informative evening when the Grand Canyon School PTA presented its Whole Health Family Night on Feb. 28, 2025 at the school’s auditorium.

The event included such organizations as the Arizona Dept. of Economic Security,  Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, Coconino County Health and Human Services — AZ Health Zone, the Grand Canyon and Town of Tusayan Fire Dept., Grand Canyon Rec Center, National Park Service Traffic Safety Coalition and North County HealthCare,

The school’s Culinary Arts class and North Country HealthCare provided free soup and healthy sides, with the Flagstaff Family Food Center-supported Grand Canyon Pantry providing grocery bags filled with healthy vegetables. The event also included a book fair and book drawings presented by SCHOLASTIC.
