It is with great pleasure that CCC&Y announces the new Parent and Community Outreach Coordinator who will be fulfilling the objectives of a partnership with the Coconino County Superintendent’s Office. In Northern Arizona, he has been part of website development and marketing efforts for such local nonprofits and community-serving organizations as Flagstaff Communicators, Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces, and the Coconino County Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC), where he is currently completing his term as chair. He has also served on the Coconino County Transportation Citizens Advisory Committee and the formation council for the Flagstaff Police Department’s Citizen Liaison Committee.
In the education field, he has co-taught classes in communications and leadership at Coconino Community College — Community and Corporate Learning, served on the scholarship selection committees for the Ventura County Community Foundation in Camarillo, CA; helped launch and raise funds for a communications scholarship program for a wide diversity of youth and taught summer and other high school workshops on communications for at-risk youth in Southern California.
Moraga and his wife, Star Hunter (a graduate of NAU), live in Flagstaff; their daughter, Maria Cortez de Moraga (also a graduate of NAU) and her family live in Southern California. Moraga is also a proud veteran, receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, an experience that first instilled in him a love for travel, an interest in a wide diversity of cultures and the value of continuing education and experiences.
