PAGE — Tashina Williams, director of student support services for the Page Unified School District, has been named CCC&Y’s Community Ambassador for Page.
The new position will strategically extend CCC&Y’s capacity and reach into communities in Coconino County.
“I have been with the school district for three and a half years,” Williams said. “Before that I was a dedicated case manager with Encompass Health Services for about nine years. I ran the matrix, intensive out-patient treatment program for adolescents. I also worked with high need children ages 5-18 on their treatment plan.
“I am originally from Oregon, but have been in Page for some time and I am happy to be working with CCC&Y to better serve our community,” she said.
In her new position, Williams will provide outreach to families, youth and system partners with a goal of increasing partnerships and awareness/education raising.
She will do that by connecting with community members to disperse prevention material, event notices and information about CCC&Y and participate in a variety of events in the Page region including community fairs, trainings, conferences, focus groups and meetings.
“Tashina is a dedicated professional meeting the needs for young people and families in the greater Page area. She is well established in the community and a trusted resource. We are so excited to have her support with our Self-Healing Communities initiative such as increasing NEAR-informed (neuroscience, epigenetics, ACES and resiliency) capacity and expanding community leadership across Coconino County,” said Virginia Watahomigie, executive director of the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth. “CCC&Y has had a long and fruitful relationship in the Page area, but this new development, is tremendously exciting and filled with so much potential.”
